ON THIS SIDE OF THE RIVER ONLY SILENCE
SYNOPSIS:
This is a guided tour through the neighbourhood of Analco that highlights the first-person accounts of different survivors of the explosions of 22 April 1992. The tour starts at the point of the first explosion, at the intersection of Calzada de la Independencia and Aldama street, right in the middle of that imaginary border that divides the city in two: the underground river San Juan de Dios, going into the streets of Analco exhuming the stories that have been kept for decades. The tour ends with a meal in the vacant lot where a memorial for the disappeared people of the neighbourhood is installed.
ARTIST BIO:
It is a multidisciplinary group made up of the artists Italo Gallardo, Pilar Ronderos and Roberto Collio. The company focuses its research on the construction of scenic devices emphasising the anonymous and intimate history of a territory or event in contrast to its official history. They put in tension the traditional concept of “representation” in order to recover the notion of community that formerly gave theatre a privileged place of encounter.
